Wednesday, Tax Day, Over-the-hump Day

It's the middle of the week (a very slllloooowwww week here at work), and the weather outside is still gray and rainy. However, tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and in the 60s AND that should stick around through Saturday. Wooot!

Over on Mrs. B's Confessions of a Pagan Soccer Mom blog, she's running a great giveaway for a large, durable Adidas duffel bag. Click here to check it out and enter.

Never did get around to calling L'Oreal last evening after getting home from work. Maybe I'll do that tonight. Instead I went shopping! I've gotten so sucked into this couponing thing again and it's really fun -- I had forgotten how much fun it is since pretty much abandoning it years ago. More recently, I was shopping at Wegman's and when they and the other grocery stores in town (except 1) stopped doubling coupons of $1, I figured couponing wasn't really going to help me that much any longer, so I just went with store sales and store brands, buying only what we needed each week. However, even doing that I was spending around $120 week (there is just the two of us now!) and that seemed extreme. So now I'm back to couponing and using that one grocery store here that still doubles $1 coupons. Doing so last night netted me $125 worth food for $52.50 after coupons, and because I had a $50 VISA gift card, the actual out of pocket (OOP) cost was $2.50. Hard to beat that! Even without the gift card, I would've been happy. And using many tips from the other blogs I read and follow every day, I also picked up $20 of toiletries at Target for 45-cents and then $65 worth of other toiletries and vitamins at CVS for about $5. It really is fun and feels good to come home with bags of stuff that "cost" very little.

As a result of all that, I was beat when I got home, so I fixed us quick "little pizzas" and then fell asleep on the couch with a kitten on my lap :)

Little Pizzas:

Any wrap or soft taco shell
Pizza sauce
shredded mozzarella

Layer all onto the wrap, stick in the oven at 375-degrees for about 12 minutes, enjoy. We use low-carb wraps for this and it's a great low-carb meal, but can work just fine with regular flour or corn-based wraps.

My two Tarot cards for today are the II of Wands and the Ace of Wands (we're in a very Wand-y mode, apparently -- the suit of personal power and fulfillment).

In readings, the Two of Wands indicates that power is a major issue in the situation. You or someone else has it or wants it. When you see this card, look carefully at your goals and activities to make sure you are using power wisely. Don't support power for its own sake, but enjoy it when it serves your worthwhile purposes. Take this gift and use it to mold your environment in positive ways.

The Two of Wands can also stand for an extra dose of daring and inventiveness. When you see this card, trust that the time is right for the bold, creative move that will knock their socks off. Forget subtlety and old, tired approaches. Allow yourself free rein and you'll be amazed at the results.

Looks like creativity and taking initiative are the themes today!

The Ace of Wands is a symbol of possibility in the area of creativity, excitement, adventure, courage and personal power. In readings, it shows that a seed of bold enthusiasm has been planted in your life although you may not yet recognize it. When the seed sprouts, it could take almost any form. It might be a creative idea, surge of optimism or need to act boldly. On the outside, it could be an offer, gift, opportunity, encounter or synchronistic event.

When you see this Ace, examine your life to see how its potent, confident energy could work for you. Be daring and brave. Sometimes you have to risk to get what you want. Look for the path that will excite you and push you beyond your limits. Seize the initiative, and let your enthusiasm take you to new heights. Wands are the suit of individual power and fulfillment. This Ace tells you that a time of passion is beginning. You will be able to assert your best for all to see.

The Ace of Wands is also the card of creativity. Under its influence, you can become a conduit for inspiration and invention. Forget tired, worn-out solutions. You have the chance to be original. Trust your own creative potential, and there will be no end to what you can achieve.

Alright, time to get cracking on being creative, finding solutions, taking control and showing the world what I'm made of. Yeah!!!
